Fen Barefoot is a character in the Battle Arena Toshinden series. He made his first and only appearance in Battle Arena Toshinden 4 , as an initially playable character.
Story[]
Fen is a brash young boy with a pet pig named Wolfy, which follows him around wherever he goes. While Fen usually appears as having a cheerful personality, he has a troubled past. He lost both his parents when he was young and from then on lived with his grandfather, where the two made a living by fishing.
One day, he found an unexpected injured warrior (Mondo), wounded and carrying a spear, in the forest behind their house. He and his grandfather had tended to his wounds and helped him recover and in return as a show of both mutual respect and kind gratitude, the warrior had taught Fen some of his fighting techniques.
One year later, after the warrior had left, another strange-clothed man had unexpectedly came to the house. He asked Fen's grandfather if he knew the whereabouts of the warrior they had helped before from within the past. When Fen's grandfather, who had sensed a dark and malevolent intent coming directly from the stranger himself had said no, the strange-clothed man, known as Genma, had callously killed him. Vowing to do whatever it takes to gain vengeance against Genma, Fen had formed a team with a Swiss girl named Puella Marionette and her English friend Lancelot Lakeknight, to compete in the fourth Toshindaibukai, with Fen himself personally vowing to defeat Genma and avenge his grandfather's death.
Gameplay[]
Being taught by Mondo, Fen is a very skilled spear wielder which some of his moves derived from Mondo's moves using his harpoon as his main weapon. The downside of his gameplay aside his proficiency in using the spear, Fen relies on using his pet pig, Wolfy when he executes both his Secret Move and his Desperation Move.
Move Lists[]
Fen's moves derived from Mondo's moves which Mondo had taught him to fight and wield the spear. However, he can summon his pet pig Wolfy to execute both his Secret Move and Desperation Move.
Special Attacks[]
- Captain Silver: Fen thrusts his harpoon forward as he spins his harpoon at the faster pace.
- Fire Bohemian: Fen thrusts his harpoon upward at 45 degrees angle to make his opponent engulfed in flames.
- Long Vacation: Fen flies upward while spinning from his harpoon to make an air attack towards his opponent.
- Fireless Shark: Fen fires four flaming shots on his grounded opponent while in the air. The fire shots that he executes resembles a shark as this move is one of Mondo's special attacks.
- Wild Fang: Fen grabs the opponent while swinging his harpoon to trample his opponent's back with three stomps.
Overdrive[]
- Wind Bohemian: Fen charges himself while storing his energy to his body and makes a vaccuum shot resembling a bullet to shoot his opponent, dealing damage.
Secret Move:[]
- Sky Bohemian: Fen commands his pet pig Wolfy to charge his opponent as it jumps and grows larger to crush his opponent with its back, dealing damage while reverted back to its normal size and return to its owner.
Desperation Move:[]
- Tatakae, Wolfy! (Fight): Fen commands his pet pig Wolfy to charge and deals a multi-hitting thrusts attack as the last blow where it heavily somersaults on the opponent, dealing heavy damage.
Trivia[]
- His name is a reference to Barefoot Gen.
