Toshinden Card Quest (闘神伝カードクエスト) is a spin-off board game developed by Takara and released for the PlayStation only in Japan in 1998.
The game features these games modes: Story Mode, Freeplay Mode, Card Battle Mode, Card Album Mode, and Trading Mode. The game features 8 different characters for the player to choose.
The game uses a 3D graphics engine for the board and the battle parts and 2D graphics for the encounters with other characters around the board. The gameplay consists of going around the board getting new powers and cards to defeat the enemy (each player gets an energy bar).
Story[]
During the events of Toshinden 3, Eiji Shinjo chases down Vermilion, and clash as always. However, Vermilion wins this time.... With Eiji's own Rekkuzan?! Bewildered, Eiji is yet to know that when Vermilion turned the tables on him, he had a literal ace up his sleeve.
Soul Cards.... Magical cards created to capture and utilize the special techniques of expert fighters throughout the globe and can only be used by those with such fighting spirit. Created only by the mysterious sorceress Selene, their widespread distribution invites not only the Toshinden fighters, but the Organization as well.
To ensure that these cards will not fall into the wrong hands, the Toshinden warriors seek out Selene. But what lies ahead is a worldwide journey and a global conflict just for this very goal!
